First neurofeedback session using the Mendi device. The journey begins.

Woke after 4 hours of sleep with moderate and frequent tics — wrist rolling, hand clenching, facial grimacing, jaw clamping. Completed a YGTSS self-assessment and selected three CBT techniques to integrate: deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided imagery.

YGTSS Score 30 Marked severity

The Mendi device evaluates blood oxygen levels in the prefrontal cortex with surprising sensitivity. Key discovery: breathing alone is insufficient for achieving the highest scores. Resilience and consistency matter more than any single technique.

Session Results

  • Guest Session: 33% / 27s control
  • Session A: 15% / 16s control
  • Session B: 33% / 43s control
  • Session C: 26% / 43s control

Tic episodes during sessions had no immediately apparent effect on measured brain activity — an interesting early observation worth tracking.
